The Changing Colour Field

The aura is not a static energy field. It vibrates and fluctuates as a person's consciousness changes, and if the soul of an entity is able to express itself more fully the auric field may even change in colour. The following extract from a person's second Spiritual Reading demonstrates this:

Yes, we see entity now. We see the colour field which has been observed before. There are certain changes within the colour field, such as a greater dimension, no, a greater depth rather, in the blue area, and a widening and a deepening of the purple; and the red seems to have widened a bit more, indicating the emotional flow is greater. The deepening and widening of the purple indicates the emerging of a priestly nature. Entity should strive towards this as its goal.

The colour purple was not even mentioned in the first Reading because it was of such minute importance, yet through this person's cultivation of spiritual practices, such as meditation and contemplation of mystical writings, the purple colour entered more fully into the aura. Several years after this Reading was done this entity did in fact become a priest. The greater depth in the blue portrays a deeper comprehension of spirituality, but also the formation of religious views into a solid foundation upon which greater understanding could be laid. This entity was very disciplined and initially unable to allow the emotions to operate in a free flowing fashion, but in the second Reading this situation was being overcome through closer interaction with people who shared in the same idealism. The widening of the red signifies this change.

In the fifteen months between Readings for this next person there were a number of changes in the aura (the result of spiritual tuition):

The colour field has changed. The lighter red has turned into a deeper orange. The brownish yellow has turned more yellow, and the blue is a little darker. The other colours have stayed the same. The surrounding colours are a little different ... The first colour is a deeper orange which is a balancing colour ... Changes are occurring whereby the sun influences are becoming stronger thereby giving the greater patience, the greater love flow, greater creativity, greater energy and transformation. Orange is indicative of this... When the blue becomes a bit darker as it has here it indicates a settling, a greater acceptance; not so much fighting against situations, forces and thoughts, therefore creating a more peaceful inner surrounding...

This extract is a good picture of the changes that occur when someone accepts and acknowledges their soul's purpose. Orange speaks of purpose and the change in the main colour from light red to orange indicates a new purposefulness in this person's life. This entity had been fighting against the various situations they had been placed in: when they accepted them, not only could purpose begin to be worked out, but a more peaceful sate of mind was also achieved - signified by the darker blue.

The basis of human life is change, and growth through that change. If we accept the notion of evolution then we have to accept that we are also part of that process, and this means changes within self. The things which need changing are the aspects of self which most stubbornly resist anything new or revolutionary. This includes conditioned thinking, reactive emotions and negative habits.

If we are to change in any lasting and fundamental way then this can only happen through a change in thought patterns. By focusing the mind in a spiritual direction the auric field can be shaped in accordance with the higher emotions and spiritualised thoughts, rather than by one's instincts. The offering of self and transformation through the willingness to change are the essence of spirituality.

This transformation is manifested in an alteration in the astral body and a corresponding change in the auric field. If a person's mind grows in understanding then this will be reflected in a greater brilliance in the colours of the aura. If a person expands their energy levels then the vibrational levels in the auric field will increase.

The aura can be changed in a positive sense through conscious application of certain techniques and practices. However, it must be kept in mind than in the progressive person who is willing to give of self and learn from their mistakes the auric field is in a state of flux anyway.

Self Discipline: Cleansing and Regulating the Aura

There is a need to cleanse the auric field of its negative aspects. These can be observed in the dark streaks, or in the way certain colours fight one another, producing an unevenness in the vibration. Many diverse beings and forces interact and collide at times within the auric field. This accounts for the changes though which our consciousness passes, for it can be thought of as being mirrored in the 'sea' of the astral body with its colourful emanations.

The only way the astral can be cleansed is through discipline. There is no other way. You can pray and meditate, and this may deepen and extend the blues and purples in the auric field but it will not necessarily remove the negativity and the chaotic elements which grasp hold of a person at times. A disciplined person with no religious aspirations will have a much more ordered and clean aura than a religious person who is totally undisciplined. The undisciplined person may have idealistic notions but cannot apply them. This means that the aura is in a state of disarray, even though the individual colours may be marvellous. By discipline we mean, for example, getting up every morning at precisely the same time, and getting out of bed the instant the alarm rings. Discipline is the regulation of the small, everyday realities of life. Some other examples would be moderation in eating or drinking.

The best way to discover the state of a person's mind and the level of order in the auric field is to walk into their house, especially the bedroom, and see how orderly it is. In our immediate environment we manifest the content of our own consciousness, and if one's home is chaotic then so is the aura!
