PRAYERS OF MY HEART

Prayer for Silence

Grant, Father, unto us that silence within,
the quietness required in order to penetrate
deeper into the mysteries
which pertain to our mind and to our substance.

Grant unto us an inner quietness,
an inner waiting, an inner perception.
And yet in that quietness grant us a fire that will warm us
towards the possibilities which are ours.

Give us an enthusiasm that,
though it may not outwardly be perceived,
will inwardly keep us fresh and perceptive.
This we pray in the name of the Christ.
So shall it be.

 

Prayer for Forgiveness

Lord, you have uplifted, guided and walked with us in danger,
upheld us when we were weak,
loved us when we were empty,
surrounded us when we needed protection.

Forgive us for not always seeing your goodness.
Forgive us for our complaints,
for our misunderstandings,
for our poverty of expression.
Forgive us for our inability to show love and compassion,
forgive us for not portraying you.

Lift us to the highest mountain.
Help us to escape the snares of the evil one.
Help us to fasten our eyes on you.

May all my loved ones in spirit and in flesh
continue to feel your guiding presence.
May they get up when they lose;
may they never falter in their call.

This we pray in the name of our Lord, our loved one.
So shall it be.
