About Rev Robert John ...

Rev Robert John, aged 46, was ordained as a priest in The Independent Church of Australia in 1981. He has experience of the Covenant of Love service from two perspectives: as a celebrant and as a participant. During his 20 year ministry, Robert has officiated at many Covenants for gay and lesbian couples.

In 1985, Robert met his partner, Richard Hall, then a member of the church. On 7 March, 1987, Robert and Richard celebrated their Covenant of Love service.

Richard, aged 49, is also an ordained minister and maintains a private psychology practice in Melbourne.
