Advent & Christmas   [ Spiritual Festivals ]
Advent
During Advent – which is the time of preparation for the Christmas festival, for the coming of the light into the darkness of this our world – we too must prepare ourselves to ascend to the heavens, where we will gaze in wonder at the miracle that brought life, light and love to this earth. We work to raise our earthly consciousness to the realms of heaven and attune our hearts to the heart of God. We cannot approach the coming of the light to this world with unchanged hearts and minds. Our eyes and ears must not be confused by earthly considerations and burdens. We have to prepare ourselves in meditation, prayer and attunement to the spiritual worlds.

Christmas

Commencing at midnight Christmas Eve until January 6, the holy ones celebrate Christmas. They celebrate it each and every year, and in so doing they bring about a change in the atmosphere, a change in human consciousness, and a change in the way people relate to one another. It is during this period that those who are sensitive to the feelings in the atmosphere will know that something different is happening, something that cannot be explained in rational or scientific terms. They sense the presence of a mood and feeling that makes us more open to one another, more giving, more understanding, and more forgiving.

Christmas signifies the birth of Christ within our own soul. Mary represents not only the world soul, but also our own soul. She longs and hungers for the release of that which is captivated within us, and which we do not know how to release.

Epiphany
The spiritual feast of Epiphany (January 6) – which marks the conclusion of the twelve holy nights of Christmas – celebrates the visit of the three magi and also the baptism of Jesus when the spirit of Christ descended bringing the act of incarnation of the godhead into human form closer to its fulfillment.

Details of our Advent Masses, Christmas Eve Midnight Mass and Epiphany celebrations are listed in the calendar.
