St John's Tide   [ Spiritual Festivals ]
St John's day portrays to us the truth of our beingness, the truth of our real spiritual self. Just before he went to the cross Jesus prayed this most potent sentence for his disciples:

"Sanctify them in the truth; thy word is truth."
(John 17:17)

And the "word" is not the Bible as some commentators would have it, but it is the Logos, that great spirit being, which today we called the Christ, and of which we are an image and likeness.

The spiritual festival of St John's Tide reminds us that we are spiritual beings; that we must integrate the spirit given to us, our I AMness, into the very fabric of our being. This is the spiritual work of St John's Tide.
