Lord, make Calvary real for me,
Lord, make Calvary real to me;
Open my eyes to see vic'try in Christ for me;
Lord, make Calvary real to me.
We are singing this song during Holy Week prior to our daily contemplations.

The focus of our work in this Holy Week
is trying to see the Spirit of Christ -
just like the initiates of old
who gathered together in the caves at midnight
to try and see the sun
- a deeply inner process
.

Many stages are given in the Gospel of John
- the gospel of the I AM, the inner Christ -
where the Christ enters into our lives.
Holy Week gives us some of the important stages.

Palm Sunday is the Christ entering
into the inner sanctum in a kingly fashion.
A beginning.
Read about this in John 12:12-23

The Office of the Tenebrae
- a service of light and darkness
which prefigures the whole of Holy Week
is celebrated on this Sunday night.

Thursday is the time Jesus
spends in the Upper Room with his disciples.
Read this in John 13-17.
We spend Monday and Wednesday evening contemplating this time.
The first contemplation
is about all that occurs in The Upper Room.
The second contemplation
is about the High Priestly Prayer.

Meditation on the Fourteen Stations of the Cross.
A meditation in spirit
as we contemplate the meaning of each station in our life.

Good Friday
- the time in the Garden, the trials, the mocking and scourging,
the crucifixion, the death and burial.
John writes about some of these in chapters 18:28-40, 19:1-27, 31-42

Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
O - sometimes it causes my to tremble, tremble, tremble;
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?

We celebrate the Veneration of the Light
at midnight, Saturday, heralding in the Light at the darkest moment.

"The Lord is risen!
He is risen indeed, hallelujah!"

This we celebrate on Easter Sunday.
Read about the risen Christ and his appearances in John 20:1-23

Were you there when he rose up from the tomb?
Were you there when he rose up from the tomb?
O - sometimes it causes my to tremble, tremble, tremble;
Were you there when he rose up from the tomb?
